About IBU

Island Bay United AFC was formed in 1931 with the name of Wellington Technical College Old Boys. In 1966 the name changed to Island Bay United Association Football Club. We play in Gold/Black shirts, black shorts and yellow socks.IBUAFC is a club for junior and senior players, run by junior and senior committees. The senior club  website is found here – IBUAFC

The Island Bay junior club generally has more than 500 players enrolled – enough to field several teams in each grade, including 24 teams in the First Kicks and Fun Football programmes for young players aged 5-8yrs (see Age Grades).

Clubrooms and Cafe

The cafe and clubrooms at Wakefield park are open on Saturdays from 8am – both as the heart of the club, and a fundraiser.

Fresh baking, real coffee, hot chips and a great club atmosphere…
