*Updated* Talent Development Programme Identification Sessions – Register Now

Welcome to the 2019 football year at Island Bay United!

We’re off to a cracking start to the year as we kick off the Talent Development Programme (TDP) for Term 1 at the end of January, starting with two weeks’ identification sessions 27 January to 9 February.

These sessions are to identify the players for each grade (U13, U15 and U17) who will be invited to join the programme. Those players selected will be asked to join for the entire year.

More detailed information will be made available about training days and times as soon as the ground bookings are confirmed with Wellington City Council.

You can find out more about TDP from our earlier post here.

What happens at the identification sessions?

The sessions will run in a similar way to most training sessions and are designed to give the coaches and Technical Director an opportunity to assess each player across an extended period (when compared to traditional football trials).

Players are required to attend at least four of the six identification sessions to ensure that the coaches have sufficient time to assess each player.

Who should attend?

The TDP is aimed at those players who want to play at a high level – typically with the aim of playing in the youth (13-17 years old) premier leagues. We encourage all of those aspiring players (and parents/supporters) to attend.

How do I register?

All players are required to register in MyComet, New Zealand Football’s online registration system before 27 January, 2019.

  1. Login to My Comet.
  2. Select Register on the left menu.
