Our united plans for the future

We’re in planning mode at Island Bay United and we really want to hear from our members, supporters and community.

Strategic Plan

We’ve pulled together a draft Strategic Plan for 2019-2024 (link below) but it still needs your input. The aim is to have it completed by the start of the 2019 season.

The plan outlines Island Bay United AFC’s aspirations and action plan to achieve them. With rapid growth and limited time and resources, the club has developed a strategic plan to focus on the key areas, including:

  • Clarity required on what we are trying to achieve in the junior, youth and senior environments
  • Improve overall club organisation: governance, leadership and administration
  • Provide quality Recreation, Participation and Talent Development Opportunities.
  • Encourage new volunteers each season
  • Establish strong business and community partnerships

Pathway Development

A major component of the club’s strategic plan is the desire to be a progressive, strong community club both socially and competitively. At the heart of this is our desire to develop home-grown talent into our top senior teams by providing organic pathways through the club and by building on and strengthening the senior club.

This pathway will be supported by the Junior Academy and the Youth Talent Development Programme.

IBUAFC will be recognised as one of the leading clubs in Wellington in the delivery of high quality football programs for junior, youth and senior, female and male players, regardless of a player’s motivation, ability or their social or competitive intentions.

We are a sporting organisation that enriches the community of the southern suburbs of Wellington through the provision of first class football and recreational programmes and amenities. We will always display professional excellence, both on and off the pitch, for all ages and abilities in an enjoyable and friendly environment.
